Day 1 -- Thursday, November 15, 2007

Education Foundation Fundamentals*
8:30 am to 4:00 pmFor emerging or inactive foundations. This interactive, step-by-step seminar for members of newly formed local education foundations (LEFs) and those considering starting or revitalizing a foundation is an excellent jump-start-to the process. Topics include:
  • Organizing your group
  • Legal & financial issues
  • Recruiting & developing your board
  • Politics and the LEF in the community
  • Overview of LEF programs & fundraising
The workshop includes an opportunity to develop action plans and a chance for individual consultations.
Fee: $130 for members; $200 for non-members -- includes CCEF foundation notebook, breakfast, lunch, end of day event and reception. There will be a special discounted group rate to encourage team attendance! Check back for details or call the CCEF office.

4:30 pmSupporting California's Children
tlempert Ted Lempert, President of Children Now, a national research and advocacy organization, will brief us on the status of California's children and the role communities can play. Reception Follows
Fee for Special Event and Reception Attendees: $40 for Members; $50 for Non-members.
Attendees of Education Foundation Fundamentals and all day Capacity Building Trainings (AM & PM) are invited to the special event and reception at no additional charge.

Fee for Conference Only: $100 for Members; $200 for Non-members.
